Hi! I’m Nicole.

I am a wife, mother of four, and recent graduate of Houston Baptist University with an M.A. in Cultural Apologetics.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been a question-asker. I delight in studying the world around me, and people are often my favorite subjects. I love to dig beneath the surface of any situation and get to the bottom of what’s really going on. Whether it’s navigating marriage, raising kids, or studying the culture at large, I believe there are lessons to be learned everywhere – if we are willing to ask the tough questions and listen for the answers.

Although a Christian most of my life, I eventually came to a crisis of faith in which I doubted everything I thought I knew. This season pushed me to think deeply about what I believe, and I came out the other side with a greater appreciation for the Truth, Beauty, and Goodness of Christianity. Now I am passionate about sharing my discoveries with others.

I care about what most wives and mothers care about – raising good kids and creating a stable, nurturing home. But I also care about loving like Jesus outside of my own four walls. This means I write about everything from my experiences with homeschooling to sitting with human trafficking survivors in India. From playdates to politics, my interests are far-reaching because it’s in the stretching I seem to grow the most.

Two qualities I wholly admire are honesty and vulnerability. I am always on the lookout for people willing to plunge to the deeper places; finding such friends is one of life’s greatest thrills. There’s just nothing better than sharing the slightly off-beat thoughts in my head and hearing the voice of C.S. Lewis in someone’s reply:

“You too? I thought I was the only one.”
